Michael Owen eager to extend Manchester United stay - 30th May 2011
Out-of-contract striker Michael Owen has reiterated his desire to stay at Manchester United.
The 31-year-old helped the club win a record 19th league title and was an unused substitute in the 3-1 Champions League final defeat by Barcelona.
"I have loved every minute," Owen said during the club's title-winning victory parade in Manchester on Monday.

Michael Owen admits it would be a dream to score on Saturday against Barcelona, in a game he describes as “the perfect final”.
The Reds striker, who netted United's last goal of the 2010/11 domestic campaign against Blackpool at Old Trafford, has never played in a Champions League final. He's not convinced he'll start this one, either, but insists he'll be ready should he be called upon from the bench.

Manchester United striker Michael Owen admits he has given up trying to understand why he is not being selected for England by Fabio Capello.
The 31-year-old has not featured for his country since playing in a friendly against France in March 2008.

The Manchester United striker accused the website of ‘making things up’, and challenged the reporter to justify his comments on the social network site.
Regarding his England prospects, Sky Sports had Owen quoted as saying: ‘I was disappointed for the first squad I missed, a little bit less for the next one and after about three or four times, I didn't really expect to see my name.
‘For the first couple of squads I looked at the players [named] and looked at what I had done. For the last dozen squads, I haven't looked. I don't even think about [being picked] now. Honestly.
